Patriotic Pretzels

The 4th of July is next week! Do you have your menu planned? Do you go with the red/white/blue theme, or something else? I am trying to convince my husband that we should have come people over this year, but I am not sure I am winning that battle. We would have to get a new grill, since the old one died. I am not sure he thinks having people over is a good enough reason to rush into spending that much money on a new grill. So we will have to see.

In the meantime, I will just compile a list of things I want to make for the 4th. Just in case. A girl has to be prepared, right? Stay tuned, because on Sunday I will be sharing this list with you. One of the things that could easily make the list for any party are these patriotic pretzels. Change up the color of the sprinkles and you have something for Halloween, Easter, or Christmas. No baking involved, a sweet and salty treat, and it is quick. You really can’t ask for anything more than that when planning a get together.

I found a bag of Patriotic Pretzels at the store, but you could really use any shape you had. Even plain pretzel sticks would work well. All you have to do is melt some white almond bark, dip the pretzels, and sprinkle with festive colored sugar or sprinkles. I am not always a big fan of the sweet/salty combo, but these got me. I couldn’t stay out of the container! And if you run out of pretzels, you can dip strawberries too

Patriotic Pretzels

Serves: 10

Dip pretzels into the melted chocolate. Using a fork, shake off some of the excess chocolate. Place on a lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugar or pretzels.

I like to coat 4 or 5 pretzels, and then decorate with sugar and sprinkles.
