%20On%20Sunday,%20it'll%20be%20back%20to%20business%20as%20usual%20here%20with%20the%20meal%20plan.%20In%20the%20meantime...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20made%20this%20basic%20(and%20delicious)%20peach%20crisp%20a%20couple%20of%20weekends%20ago.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDo%20you%20ever%20just%20crave%20baked%20goods?%20On%20that%20chilly%20Saturday%20night,%20I%20needed%20to%20bake.%20After%20searching%20my%20pantry,%20I%20knew%20just%20what%20I%20wanted.%20The%20jar%20of%20peaches%20staring%20back%20from%20the%20second%20shelf%20called%20out,%20%22Peach%20crisp...peach%20crisp.%22%20What,%20your%20canned%20goods%20don't%20talk%20to%20you?%20Huh.%20Too%20bad.%20It's%20helpful%20to%20have%20such%20counsel%20in%20your%20kitchen.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20drained%20the%20peaches%20and%20sliced%20them%20into%20the%20bottom%20of%20a%20baking%20dish.%20This%20was%20one%20of%20those%20round%20Corningware%20dishes,%20I%20think%20that%20it%20was%20a%202%20quart.%20I'd%20run%20into%20my%20kitchen%20to%20check...but%20I'm%20not%20at%20home.%20A%209X9%20would%20work%20fine%20here%20too.%20Because%20these%20peaches%20were%20preserved%20in%20a%20light%20syrup,%20I%20didn't%20need%20to%20sweeten%20them.%20If%20you're%20using%20fresh,%20you%20might%20want%20to%20stir%20in%20some%20sugar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENext%20I%20mixed%20together%20some%20quick%20oats,%20brown%20sugar,%20flour,%20and%20cinnamon%20and%20cut%20in%201/2%20stick%20of%20butter.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESprinkle%20the%20topping%20over%20the%20peaches.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20at%20350%20degrees%20for%2040%20minutes,%20until%20the%20topping%20is%20golden%20brown.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20here's%20the%20kicker:%20Serve%20it%20warm,%20topped%20with%20Creme%20Brulee%20ice%20cream.%20Oh%20my%20goodness!%20I%20swear%20that%20music%20swelled%20in%20my%20kitchen%20(it%20was%20the%20Halleluiah%20Chorus)%20when%20I%20took%20the%20first%20bite%20of%20this%20combination.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPeach%20Crisp%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20mixing%20bowl%20combine%20oats,%20brown%20sugar,%20flour%20and%20cinnamon.%20Cut%20in%20butter%20until%20mixture%20is%20crumbly.%20Drain%20peaches,%20then%20slice%20and%20put%20into%20a%20baking%20dish.%20Sprinkle%20oat%20mixture%20on%20top%20and%20bake%20at%20350%20degrees%20for%2040%20minutes.%20Serve%20warm%20with%20creme%20brulee%20ice%20cream%20;%20)%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
