Ingredientes

  • 13 lbs beef round or sirloin, cut thin
  • 8 oz shortening
  • 2 qts beef stock
  • 1 can tomatoes, canned, diced
  • 1 lb onions, chopped
  • 3 clove garlic
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 12 green peppers, thinly sliced
  • 3 oz cornstarch
  • 2 1/2 cups water, cold
  • 2/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 lb rice, converted
  • 8 oz rice, converted
  • 4 1/4 qts water, boiling
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp margarine or vegetable oil

Direcciones

  1. Cook meat in shortening in kettle or deep frypan until lightly browned, about 10 minutes
  2. Add stock, tomatoes, onions, and seasoning to meat. Simmer until tender, 1-1 1/2 hours stirring occasionally
  3. Add green pepper and cook until tender but firm and brightly colored
  4. Combine cornstarch, water, and soy sauce into a smooth paste. Add to meat-vegetable mixture. cook until thickened (approximately 5 minutes)
  5. Cook rice in steamer, oven, or in a stock pot or steam-jacketed kettle, according to directions that follow. Serve 6 oz meat mixture over 4 oz rice
