Receta Perfect Grilled Hamburger

- You may want to sprinkle these burgers lightly with garlic salt while they are on the grill.
- Break up chuck and sprinkle with salt and pepper; toss lightly with hands to distribute. Divide meat into four equal portions.
- With cupped hands, toss one portion back and forth to create a loose ball. Pat lightly to flatten meat into 3/4 inch burger which measures about 4 1/2 inches across. Press center of patty down with fingertips till about 1/2 inch thick, creating a well in center of patty. Repeat with remaining portions of meat.
- Grill burgers, uncovered and without pressing down on them, till well seared on the first side, about 2 1/2 min. Flip burgers with a wide metal spatula.
- Continue grilling to desired doneness: about 2 min for rare, 2 1/2 min for medium-rare, 3 min for medium or possibly 4 min for well-done. Serve immediately.
