Persian Sugar Pickled Garlic

Ingredientes

  • 4 x Heads garlic, cloves separated, unpeeled
  • 2 c. red wine vinegar
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 6 whl cloves (not garlic-the spice!)
  • 2 Tbsp. black peppercorns

Direcciones

  1. Place all the ingredients in a large heavy-bottomed saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook for 10 min, stirring from time to time. Reduce the heat to moderate and cook 5 min. Remove from the heat and cold to room temperature.
  2. Transfer to a clean glass or possibly ceramic jar large sufficient to accommodate the garlic and liquid. Tightly seal and chill for at least 1 month before serving. The garlic improves with age for as long as 15 Years.
