Ingredientes

  • 1 med head cabbage
  • 2 lb grnd beef
  • 1/3 c. uncooked rice
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp grnd black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 28 ounce sauerkraut
  • 1 lrg onion, minced
  • 3 x garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic pwdr
  • 28 ounce tomato juice
  •     Boil a large pot of water.

Direcciones

  1. Remove core of cabbage; throw away. Place cabbage in boiling water; cook 3 to 4 min. Drain and cold. When cold, carefully remove 1 leaf at a time from head; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine grnd beef, rice, Large eggs, salt, pepper, paprika and sugar. Place 2 to 3 Tbsp. meat mix on each leaf; roll leaf around meat.
  3. Layer ingredients in a large casserole or possibly roasting pan in this order: A layer of sauerkraut, half the onions and garlic, then the cabbage rolls. Cover rolls with remaining sauerkraut, onion and garlic.
  4. Pour tomato juice over top. Cover; bake 2 to 2 1/2 hrs at 325 degrees.
