Pink Glam Dessert Vignette

Feminine dessert vignette with two tiered White Chocolate Cake and embellished doughnuts.

How utterly girly is this Pink Glam dessert vignette! I loved my Big Game Celebration that we had for my big day but still I wanted to put a feminine stamp on my birthday. This dessert vignette is much smaller than the sweet tables I usually do, but it has enough glam to fill an entire buffet.

Another reason for this table is that I was in a hurry to use the beautiful rose gold cake stand. Will you look at the bling on it! This stand is even more special because it was a gift from my son Casey. When he was home for Christmas I was showing him some other blogs that I follow and commented on the beautiful cake stands. He sat and listened politely with an uh-huh here and there while on his phone. I figured that I had bored him and he was playing a game or on Facebook. What he was doing was ordering this cake stand for me. How sweet is that!

Once the stand arrived I began making a list of easy treats for my vignette. Speaking of vignettes; I’ve tried to put together a couple of them for my coffee table and the table in the foyer. To me they’ve just been OK, nothing to write home about as my mother used to say. On the other hand, this time the ideas flowed freely for this Pink Glam Dessert Vignette so lots of restraint was called for.

Doughnuts are so economical that I use them often on my tables. These are sour cream topped with candy dipped chocolate doughnut holes. I embellished them with pink sprinkles and a pearl lollipop stick. I presented them on a clear cake stand with ivory and pink flowers at the base. That’s rock star treatment for a doughnut!

To the left of the cake I sat a pink pom on a small cake stand and I love the decorative support it gives the cake. I used rose gold mercury glass candlesticks with ivory tapers. Waiting for the backdrop to arrive I was like a kid waiting on Christmas. It, and the pink rosette runner couldn’t get here quick enough. The backdrop was ordered before the cake stand and they work together beautifully. My only regret with the rosette runner is that I didn’t’ order two. The ivory base tablecloth added some light to the table and provided some balance to all of the pink items.

Pink Glam Cakes

Both cakes are from a boxed mix. For the larger tier I prepared it according to the package directions and added 6 ounces of melted white chocolate to the batter. To the top tier I added 4 ounces of white chocolate and replaced 2 tablespoons of the required water with pomegranate juice plus ¾ tsp of pink gel food coloring. Both tiers are frosted and filled with basic vanilla buttercream.

Designing and assembling my Pink Glam Dessert Vignette was so much fun and I’m looking forward to Valentine’s Day so I can do another. I’m sharing this at some really fun weekly parties. Please take a peek at a few of them, you’ll find tons of inspiration. The links for my resources are at the bottom of the post.
