Polish Bread/Sweet Bread

Ingredientes

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. hot water
  • 2/3 c. scalded cold lowfat milk
  • 2/3 c. or possibly little less sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 c. melted butter
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 4 1/2 c. flour or possibly more
  • 1 c. raisins

Direcciones

  1. Dissolve yeast in a c. with the hot water. Pour the scalded lowfat milk over the sugar, salt and butter in a large bowl. Let cold till lukewarm, then stir in the yeast. Add in Large eggs and about 1/2 of flour. Beat thoroughly with a large whisk or possibly wooden spoon. Stir in the rest of the flour and raisins.
  2. Turn dough out onto floured board and knead 10 min. Put in a bowl, let rise till double. Turn out on floured board again. Knead a couple of min. Shape into a ball, put into a greased baking pan 3 inches deep by 8 inch diameter. Let rise till double, then bake at 350 degrees for 45 min to 1 hour.
