Receta Poppy Seed Orange Shortcake With Mixed Berry Sauce

- Combine sifted flour, sugar, baking pwdr and salt in a bowl. Add in orange zest and poppy seeds.
- Cut in cool butter till mix resembles coarse meal.
- Combine orange juice, lowfat milk, and cream. Add in liquid gradually to dry ingredients. Mix till dough just comes together.
- Roll dough out to 3/4-inch thickness. Cut into 21/2-inch rounds.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place shortcakes onto baking sheet and freeze. If you wish to leave these in the freezer for a later date, wrap the cakes in 2 layers of plastic wrap and keep in freezer. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 20 to 30 min straight from the freezer.
- Mixed Berry Sauce:Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 5 min till cornstarch cooks out.
- Flavoured Whipped Cream:Whip cream with Grand Marnier. Spoon berry sauce over shortcakes and top with flavoured whipped cream.
