- 4 (4-inch-diameter) portobello mushrooms, stemmed, dark gills scraped away
- olive oil
- 2 sweet Italian sausages (about 10 oz.), casings removed
- 1/2 white onion, finely chopped
- dried crush red pepper to taste (I used about 1/2 teaspoon)
- 1/2 cup purchased marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
