%20that%20means%20I%20get%20up%20way%20earlier%20(boo)%20and%20travel%20farther%20(boo)%20I%20have%20been%20WIPED%20when%20I%20get%20home.%20And,%20my%20blogging%20has%20suffered!%20But,%20have%20no%20fear%20my%20friends,%20I%20have%20been%20snapping%20pics%20at%20every%20meal%20and%20have%20lots%20to%20share.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20recipe%20is%20by%20far%20my%20favorite%20thing%20I%20have%20made%20in%20a%20long%20time...it%20is%20de.li.ci.OUS.%20T%20and%20I%20have%20been%20going%20to%20this%20little%20hole%20in%20the%20wall%20called%20Depanneur%20Le%20Pick-Up%20about%20two%20blocks%20from%20our%20place.%20And%20they%20have%20the%20most%20amazing%20cheeseburgers,%20pulled%20pork%20sandwiches,%20breakfasts,%20you%20name%20it-%20it's%20yummy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20have%20been%20having%20a%20bit%20of%20an%20obsessive%20time%20with%20the%20pulled%20pork%20though,%20so%20we%20finally%20decided%20that%20between%20his%20immediate%20contact%20with%20killer%20cuts%20of%20meat%20and%20my%20ability%20to%20google%20any%20recipe%20I%20want,%20we%20should%20make%20our%20own.%20So,%20last%20Saturday%20night%20we%20started%20preparing%20the%20feast%20that%20we%20shared%20on%20Sunday%20afternoon.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20guys,%20I%20am%20not%20kidding,%20this%20recipe%20is%20incredible.%20I%20have%20adapted%20from%20this%20recipe,%20provided%20by%20Dave%20Liebeman%20originally.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPulled%20Pork%20Sandwiches%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERub:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20used%20two%20Nomu%20rubs%20the%20peri%20peri%20and%20cajun%20ones.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut,%20you%20can%20really%20improvise%20here,%20go%20with%20stuff%20that%20you%20like.%20If%20you%20like%20less%20spice,%20add%20dried%20rosemary,%20oregano,%20any%20dried%20spices%20really...but%20I%20say%20go%20for%20heat,%20it%20dissipates%20with%20all%20the%20cooking.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMeat:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E18%20ounces%20(one%20and%20a%20half%20bottles)%20of%20good%20beer%20-%20we%20used%20St%20Ambroise%20(and%20drank%20the%20remaining%20half)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4%20cloves%20garlic,%20chopped%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%205-pound%20pork%20butt%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow,%20you%20can%20make%20your%20own%20BBQ%20suace,%20there%20are%20tons%20of%20great%20recipes.%20What%20I%20did%20what%20simmer%20down%20the%20juices%20left%20from%20the%20braising,%20I%20added%203/4%20a%20cup%20of%20brown%20sugar%20and%20about%20a%20cup%20of%20this%20BBQ%20sauce%20(Chicken%20&%20Rib).%20I%20know,%20I%20know,%20the%20whole%20thing%20isn't%20from%20scratch,%20but%20this%20sauce%20is%20goooooood%20and%20can%20be%20used%20later!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20rub%20ingredients%20in%20a%20bowl%20and%20mix%20well.%20Rub%20all%20over%20pork%20butt.%20Wrap%20in%20plastic%20wrap%20and%20refrigerate%20for%20at%20least%20one%20hour%20and%20as%20long%20as%20overnight.%20We%20went%20for%20overnight%20and%20man,%20was%20it%20worth%20it!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20500%20degrees%20F.%20Unwrap%20pork%20and%20place%20in%20a%20roasting%20pan%20with%20sides%20about%202%20inches%20high.%20Cook%2045%20minutes%20until%20dark%20browned%20and%20even%20blackening%20in%20places.%20Remove%20from%20oven.%20Lower%20oven%20to%20325%20degrees%20F.%20Pour%20beer%20over%20the%20top%20and%20add%20chopped%20garlic%20around%20the%20pork.%20Cover%20tightly%20with%20heavy%20duty%20aluminum%20foil%20or%20twice%20with%20regular%20foil.%20Poke%20about%2010%20holes%20all%20over%20the%20top%20of%20the%20foil.%20Cook%20pork%20butt%202%201/2%20hours%20longer%20until%20so%20tender%20that%20it%20comes%20away%20very%20easily%20from%20center%20bone.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20the%20meat%20after%20the%2045%20minutes:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd,%20after%20the%2021/2%20hours:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20meat%20on%20a%20plate%20and%20pour%20the%20pan%20juice%20(there%20will%20be%20plenty)%20into%20a%20saucepan.%20From%20there,%20you%20can%20make%20your%20own%20BBQ%20sauce%20concoction,%20or%20do%20as%20I%20did:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%203/4%20cup%20of%20brown%20sugar%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%201%20cup%20of%20this%20BBQ%20sauce%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet%20it%20simmer%20until%20it%20thinkens...about%2015%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20the%20sauce%20is%20boiling%20down,%20pull%20apart%20the%20pork%20with%202%20forks.%20Pour%20the%20sauce%20over%20the%20pulled%20pork%20and%20work%20through%20until%20fully%20absorbed.%20Do%20everything%20you%20can%20to%20let%20it%20set%20a%20little...but,%20I%20am%20telling%20you%20now,%20that%20won't%20be%20easy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow,%20once%20the%20meat%20is%20setting,%20prepare%20the%20rest.%20We%20took%20large%20Portugese%20buns%20and%20cut%20them%20in%20half,%20from%20there%20I%20made%20this%20simple%20mayo/bbq%20sauce%20(2%20tbsps%20mayo,%202%20tbsp%20BBQ%20sauce%20and%201%20tsp%20of%20Chipotle).%20I%20sliced%20pickles.%20And%20we%20added%20some%20fresh,%20pre-made%20coleslaw.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20heated%20up%20the%20meat%20a%20little%20in%20a%20pan%20(no%20oil)%20before%20making%20the%20sandwich.%20So%20worth%20it,%20since%20from%20there%20I%20%22deglazed%22%20the%20pan%20with%20the%20pickle%20juice%20and%20drizzled%20it%20on%20the%20meat%20once%20it%20was%20on%20the%20bun.%20Top%20it%20with%20coleslaw,%20pickles,%20and%20DEVOUR.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
