Ingredientes

  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 2 T sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/4 c. flour (bread or possibly all-purpose)
  • 1 pkg. yeast (quick warm yeast)
  • 1 c. lukewarm water

Direcciones

  1. Stir yeast into lukewarm water; set aside. Mix shortening and sugar. Stir in egg and mix well. Add in flour and salt, stir till crumbly. Stir in yeast and water; mix well.Put into greased bowl, cover and let rise till double in bulk. Punch down and turn out onto lightly floured board using the 1/4 cup flour. Knead for 2-3 min. Cut out and put on greased cookie sheet. Brush with melted butter if you like. Let rise till double in bulk. Bake at 375 degrees till brown (10-12 min). Brush with melted butter and tops will be soft. Wheat Rolls - Substitute half wheat flour.
