Receta Radish Pizza with Lemon Zest and Cracked Pepper
I was recently having a discussion about why I began blogging food.
And the reason I came up with is basically because I make weird food: stuff you don’t see on every other blog.
The Omnivore really wrinkled his nose when I told him the pizza (that he was very excited about) we were having for dinner was radish pizza (not worthy of excitement). Then he sort of convinced himself that it totally made sense: radishes are spicy like pepperoni.
Hey. Whatever mind games he needs to play with himself to get excited about radish pizza are totally fine with me.
I must be honest. There are some pitfalls in making weird food.
There are some recipe flops. Some combinations sound so odd and off the wall but end up being the most delicious thing on earth. Some combinations are so odd that it would take moving Heaven and earth for them to work out.
This recipe fell somewhere in the middle. It was on the off-the-wall end of the food combination spectrum. I’d never had cooked radishes before this meal. It wasn’t mind blowingly delicious. It wasn’t so bad that we couldn’t eat it leftover for breakfast.
So here I’ll leave you with the recipe. And maybe you’ll love it more than we did. Maybe you’ll have some suggestions for taking it up a notch (bacon?).
