%20since%20quite%20awhile.%20But%20with%20the%20moving%20and%20the%20power%20outages,%20I%20haven't%20baked%20for%20quite%20awhile.%20(I%20bake%20in%20my%20microwave)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToday%20being%20a%20Sunday,%20the%20chance%20of%20a%20power%20outage%20was%20much%20lower%20and%20I%20thought%20it%20would%20be%20great%20to%20make%20these%20Bacon,%20Onion%20and%20Cheddar%20Biscuits%20as%20a%20snack/%20light%20dinner,%20for%20the%20husband%20who%20was%20watching%20the%20cricket%2020-20%20finals.%20Michelle's%20Bacon,%20Onion%20and%20Cheddar%20Biscuits%20are%20adapted%20from%20the%20Pioneer%20Woman's%20Bacon,%20Onion%20and%20Cheddar%20Biscuits.%20But%20I%20followed%20Michelle's%20Recipe%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20pretty%20quick%20to%20assemble%20(Didn't%20need%20to%20bring%20out%20the%20mixer)%20and%20the%20smell%20of%20baking%20cheese%20has%20left%20the%20house%20smelling%20heavenly.%20The%20cat%20was%20wandering%20around%20head%20tilted%20upwards,%20sniffing%20all%20over%20the%20place.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20my%20first%20lot,%20I%20just%20loosely%20placed%20the%20dough%20in%20the%20muffin%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20second%20lot,%20I%20shaped%20the%20biscuits%20into%20smoother%20shapes%20and%20these%20looked%20much%20better%20as%20a%20finished%20product.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20I%20did%20use%20my%20hands%20to%20mix%20the%20first%20few%20ingredients,%20I%20think%20its%20essential%20to%20use%20a%20plastic/rubber/silicone%20spatula%20once%20you%20add%20the%20cheese.%20Otherwise%20the%20heat%20of%20your%20hands%20could%20melt%20the%20cheese%20into%20indistinguishability.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAlthough%20the%20Brown%20Eyed%20Baker%20recommends%2020-22%20minutes%20at%20375F%20(190C),%20I%20found%20that%20I%20needed%20to%20bake%20my%20biscuits%20for%2035%20minutes%20at%20200C.%20The%20good%20thing%20with%20baking%20in%20a%20micro%20is%20that%20you%20can%20see%20the%20colours%20of%20the%20baked%20goodies,%20without%20opening%20the%20oven%20and%20letting%20cold%20air%20in.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhat%20would%20I%20change?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20diced%20the%20onion%20quite%20fine%20this%20time,%20but%20I%20would%20chop%20it%20a%20little%20larger%20next%20time.%20The%20sweet%20onion%20was%20a%20nice%20contrast%20to%20the%20salty%20bacon%20and%20salty%20cheese%20and%20I%20would%20have%20liked%20to%20taste%20more%20of%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'd%20like%20to%20experiment%20with%20different%20herbs%20in%20the%20mix.%20Some%20thyme%20or%20oregano%20might%20go%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFreshly%20cracked%20pepper%20%20might%20be%20awesome.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20think%20this%20recipe%20would%20also%20taste%20good%20with%20flavoured%20cheeses.%20I%20have%20some%20Moroccan%20spicy%20cheese%20in%20the%20fridge,%20I%20might%20try%20that%20next.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20husband%20found%20them%20a%20little%20dry%20after%20the%202nd%20one%20and%20wanted%20ketchup%20on%20the%20side.%20Any%20ideas%20on%20how%20to%20decrease%20the%20dry%20feeling%20in%20the%20throat%20(compounded%20by%20the%20saltiness%20of%20the%20cheese%20and%20bacon)?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAny%20ideas%20on%20what%20to%20serve%20this%20with?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20thinking%20olive%20oil%20and%20balsamic%20vinegar%20dip.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESomething%20light,%20without%20strong%20flavours,%20just%20to%20add%20a%20bit%20of%20moistness%20while%20eating.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEquipment%20needed:%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
