%E2%80%A6%20we%20almost%20didn%E2%80%99t%20go%20in%E2%80%A6%20thinking%20%E2%80%A6I%E2%80%99m%20way%20over%20dressed%E2%80%A6.%20but%20we%20were%20hungry%E2%80%A6%20so%20in%20we%20went%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20place%20was%20beautiful%E2%80%A6%20a%20jewel%20in%20disguise...%20who%20would%20have%20guessed%20from%20the%20outside....we%20were%20almost%20under%20dressed%E2%80%A6.%20It%20seems%20it%20was%20a%20local%20haunt%20for%20those%20who%20knew%20about%20it%E2%80%A6%20the%20food%20was%20fabulous%E2%80%A6.%20and%20when%20the%20waitress%20suggested%20the%20Tiramisu%E2%80%A6%20we%20jumped%20at%20the%20chance%20to%20find%20out%20what%20it%20was%E2%80%A6.%20their%20Tiramisu%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20like%20a%20cake%E2%80%A6%20it%20was%20pudding%20like%20%E2%80%A6.%20served%20in%20a%20drink%20glass%E2%80%A6.%20and%20ohhhh%20was%20it%20good%E2%80%A6%20I%20was%20hooked.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETIPS%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20can%20be%20made%20somewhat%20ahead%E2%80%A6.%20a%20perfect%20Valentine%E2%80%99s%20Day%20romantic%20dessert%E2%80%A6%20after%20all%20you%20don%E2%80%99t%20want%20to%20be%20slaving%20in%20the%20kitchen%E2%80%A6%20you%20can%20make%20the%20mascarpone%20mixture%20and%20the%20whipped%20cream%20ahead%E2%80%A6%20just%20store%20them%20in%20an%20airtight%20containers%20in%20the%20fridge%E2%80%A6%20let%20the%20mascarpone%20mixture%20sit%20out%20a%20bit%20before%20you%20assemble%20the%20dessert%20so%20its%20soft.%20Save%20doing%20the%20soaking%20of%20the%20ladyfingers%20to%20just%20before%20you%20assemble%20the%20dessert%E2%80%A6%20it%E2%80%99s%20quick.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20used%20a%20Margarita%20glass%E2%80%A6%20which%20in%20my%20opinion%20works%20the%20best%E2%80%A6%20a%20perfect%20size%20and%20holds%20the%20ladyfingers%20really%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20purchase%20ladyfingers%20in%20most%20supermarkets%E2%80%A6%20I%20find%20it%20by%20the%20produce%20(usually%20by%20the%20berries)%20or%20by%20the%20deli%20(gourmet%20foods).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20used%20my%20favorite%20coffee%20liqueur%20%E2%80%A6Tia%20Maria%E2%80%A6%20Kahlua%20works%20well%20also.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20make%20this%20in%20three%20parts%E2%80%A6%20the%20mascarpone%20mixture,%20the%20whipped%20cream%20and%20the%20ladyfingers%20with%20the%20expresso/liqueur.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESplit%20the%20ladyfingers%20in%20half%E2%80%A6%20I%20used%205%20per%20serving.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20makes%204%20servings.%20(keep%20leftovers%20of%20whipped%20cream%20and%20mascarpone%20mixture%20in%20the%20fridge%20for%20a%20second%20night%20of%20dessert%20bliss).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe:%20Tiramisu%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAll%20you%20need:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20mixing%20bowl%20combine%20the%20heavy%20cream,%20powdered%20sugar%20and%20cocoa.%20Beat%20at%20high%20speed%20until%20soft%20peaks%20form.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20the%20whipped%20mixture%20to%20another%20bowl.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20the%20powdered%20sugar%20and%20mascarpone%20cheese%20and%20beat%20at%20high%20speed%20until%20well-blended.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20in%20the%20whipped%20mixture%20until%20well%20blended.%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20Prepare%20the%20Whipped%20Cream%20Topping:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20the%20heavy%20cream,%20sugar%20and%20vanilla%20in%20a%20large%20mixing%20bowl.%20Beat%20at%20high%20speed%20until%20soft%20peaks%20form.%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20Prepare%20the%20Ladyfingers:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELine%20Margarita%20glasses%20or%20other%20similar%20glasses%20with%20ladyfingers%20(split%20apart).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20a%20glass%20measuring%20cup%E2%80%A6%20heat%20the%20water%20in%20the%20microwave%20until%20hot.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20instant%20espresso%20granules,%20sugar%20and%20liqueur%20to%20the%20water%20and%20stir.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20a%20small%20gravy%20ladle,%20ladle%20the%20espresso%20mixture%20over%20the%20ladyfingers%E2%80%A6.%20Just%20until%20they%20are%20wet%E2%80%A6%20they%20will%20soak%20in%20a%20lot%20of%20fluid.%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20Assemble%20the%20Dessert:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDollop%20a%20generous%20amount%20of%20the%20mascarpone%20mixture%20on%20top%20of%20the%20prepared%20ladyfingers.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDollop%20a%20generous%20amount%20of%20the%20whipped%20cream%20topping%20on%20the%20mascarpone%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20a%20small%20strainer%E2%80%A6.%20Place%20a%20teaspoon%20of%20unsweetened%20cocoa%20in%20it%20and%20gently%20shake%20over%20the%20dessert%20to%20add%20a%20fine%20sprinkling%20of%20unsweetened%20cocoa%20powder%20on%20top.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
