Receta Recipes for Health & Weight Loss in 2013, & A New Feature
by Cookin Canuck

Healthy and satisfying recipes from Cookin’ Canuck and some of my favorite blogs.

There’s nothing like the turn of the new year to inspire us to revamp our menus, our closets and our crazy schedules. Whether or not you are one to write a formal list of New Year’s resolutions, you may still be inspired to re-think your recipes, gearing your meals towards healthy eating, and even weight loss. If you read my blog regularly, you probably know that I went through my own weight loss and exercise journey over the past year, resulting in a loss of 30 pounds (see before & after photos) and a trip across a marathon finish line (read about the good, the bad and the ugly of the race).

Am I suggesting that you run a marathon and embark on a major weight loss journey? Nope. But I would love to show you just how good healthy eating can be. It doesn’t need to be about deprivation. It can be about a celebration of fresh, flavorful food that makes your body feel good and helps to boost your energy level. I gathered together some of my favorite healthy recipes of 2012 from my site, as well as recipes from some of my favorite blogs around the web.

New feature:

At the request of many readers, I will be providing the nutritional information for each of my recipes…even the holiday treats (scary, I know). While I believe in eating everything in moderation, I know that many people are teaching themselves about portion control by tallying calories or Weight Watchers’ points. I hope this new feature will make that quest a little easier for you. If counting calories isn’t your thing, just look away from that section and enjoy the recipes “as is”!

Now let’s get down to business…

Appetizers:
