Ingredientes

  • 2 Tbsp. yeast
  • 2/3 c. hot water
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. Red River cereal
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsp. molasses
  • 6 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. lowfat milk scalded
  • 3 c. whole wheat flour
  • 8 c. white flour (approx.)

Direcciones

  1. Red River cereal is reported as having equal amounts of cracked wheat, cracked rye, and flax seeds. It is available in Canada.
  2. Proof yeast, add in salt to boiling water, add in cereal in a stream and cook till wooden spoon makes a track across it, stirring constantly. Add in butter, syrup molasses and lowfat milk, stir well, let stand til lukewarm. Add in yeast, then flour; beat well. Add in white, mixing till it comes away from the sides of the bowl. Knead for 10 min. Let rise twice covered with a towel in the oven. Punch down and make into loaves. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 min.
