- Coarsely chop the Swiss chard and reserve.
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add in the bacon and garlic and saute/fry till the bacon is crisp and the garlic is lightly browned.
- Add in the Swiss chard, salt and white wine. Turn the heat to low, cover and cook till tender, approximately 10 to 12 min. Season with the pepper and serve.
- This recipe yields 4 servings.
- Comments: This simple wintry dish can also be made with mustard greens or possibly rapini. It will compliment almost any simple meat or possibly fish dish.
