%20It%20reminded%20us%20(favorably)%20of%20KFC's%20Double%20Down,%20but%20on%20a%20roll.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Angus%20Third%20Pounder%20CBO%20was%20somewhat%20less%20successful.%20For%20one%20thing,%20the%20patty%20is%20far%20too%20dry.%20And%20because%20bacon-cheeseburgers%20have%20become%20a%20fairly%20standard%20offering%20for%20many%20a%20fast-food%20chain,%20finding%20one%20at%20McDonald's%20just%20isn't%20that%20special,%20even%20if%20there%20is%20caramelized%20onions%20sprinkled%20atop%20the%20patty.%20(C'mon,%20there's%20already%20an%20Angus%20Bacon%20&%20Cheese%20burger%20on%20the%20menu%20which%20is%20almost%20identical%20to%20the%20CBO.)%20And%20though%20the%20beef%20version%20of%20the%20CBO%20is%20larger%20than%20the%20chicken,%20we%20found%20it%20less%20satisfying%20because%20of%20its%20ordinariness.%20When%20we%20were%20done%20eating,%20both%20of%20wished%20we'd%20ordered%20our%20own%20Crispy%20Chicken%20CBOs%20and%20left%20the%20beef%20ones%20behind.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20couple%20of%20other%20notes%20about%20the%20ingredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMcDonald's%20bacon%20is%20decent%20-%20better%20than%20the%20bacon%20served%20on%20sandwiches%20at%20most%20other%20chains%20(I'm%20lookin'%20at%20you,%20Wendy)%20but%20it%20would%20be%20even%20better%20if%20they%20used%20thick-sliced%20bacon%20instead%20of%20standard.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20can't%20figure%20out%20what%20is%20so%20special%20about%20their%20%22white%20cheddar%22%20cheese%20since%20it%20tastes%20exactly%20like%20the%20orange%20cheddar%20that%20McDonald's%20uses%20on%20every%20other%20burger.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20so-called%20%22creamy%20mustard%20sauce%22%20is%20so%20bland%20that%20it%20might%20as%20well%20be%20generic%20Ranch%20Dressing%20straight%20from%20a%20supermarket%20bottle.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20recommendation:%20Check%20out%20the%20Crispy%20Chicken%20CBO%20(or%20the%20Grilled%20Chicken%20CBO,%20for%20a%20slightly%20different%20take%20on%20it)%20and%20forget%20the%20Angus%20variety.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
