Roasted Garlic White Sauce Pizza
Yield: 2 pizzas
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 - 12 minutes
Thin, crispy crust pizza topped with a roasted garlic white cheesy sauce and topped with Monterey Jack cheese.
Ingredients:
- Roasted Garlic White Sauce
- 4 - 5 garlic cloves roasted and minced
- 4 oz. cream cheese
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- salt and pepper
- 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
- 4 oz. feta cheese
- 9 oz. bag fresh spinach
- Pizza Dough
- Monterey Jack Cheese
- green onions - optional
Directions:
Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in the flour until it is coated with the butter. Add the roasted garlic. Add the milk and stir until thickened. Add the cream cheese, salt and pepper. When the cream cheese is thoroughly incorporated add the parmesan and feta cheeses. Set aside to cool.
Cook spinach in a little bit of water until it is wilted. Drain in a strainer and squeeze out any excess water. Add to the white sauce.
Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Divide the dough in 2 balls. Flour the ball well (the additional flour will help to make the dough crispier). Roll out to 10 x 15 on the back of a sprayed cookie sheet. Let set 5 minutes and roll back out to size (this dough shrinks back on itself and the second rolling will give you the desired thinness).
Spread half of the white sauce mixture on the dough. Sprinkle with Monterey Jack Cheese. Top with green onions if using.
Bake for 10 - 12 minutes until crust is browned and crispy.
