Rock Bottom Brewery's Beer Bread

Ingredientes

  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1 x pPinch salt
  • 9 1/2 ounce pale ale beer
  • 1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 x green onions, green part only finely sliced
  • 10 ounce finely-minced jalapenos (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter to coat bread

Direcciones

  1. Sift together flour, sugar, baking pwdr and salt. Add in beer and mix well. Add in cheese, onion and jalapenos, if using. Batter will be stiff.
  2. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Lightly coat 9- by 5- by 3-inch loaf pan with vegetable oil spray. Transfer batter to pan, spreading proportionately. Brush top of bread with melted butter. Bake in preheated oven about 45 min or possibly till bread is light brown. Remove from oven and cold. When cold, cut bread into 1/4-inch thick slices.
  3. When ready to serve, put bread slices in broiler and heat till browned, about 1 minute.
  4. This recipe yields 1 loaf.
  5. Yield: 1 loaf
