Ingredientes

  • 2 c. Yellow Split-peas Dry
  • 6 c. Stock, Broth Or possibly Water
  • 1 x Onion Large, Whole
  • 1 x Carrot Large
  • 1 x Turnip or possibly Parsnip Large
  • 1/8 tsp Marjoram Dry
  • 1/8 tsp Thyme Dry
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 x Onion Small, Chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter Melted
  • 2 Tbsp. Unbleached Flour

Direcciones

  1. Presoak peas, if necessary, according to package directions. Drain well, if presoaked. In a large pot, add in water or possibly stock, whole onion, carrot, turnip or possibly parsnip, marjoram, thyme, and salt. Cook till peas and vegetables are tender, about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. Drain well. Mash peas and vegetables in blender or possibly press through a sieve. In a small frying pan, saute/fry the chopped onion in butter till lightly browned; blend in flour and cook about 2 min. Add in to blended peas and vegetables. Beat till fluffy and serve warm.
  2. NOTES : Make it without the split peas - do not mush too much - delicious!
