Roy's Restaurant's Pea Soup

Ingredientes

  • 1 pound whole red peas
  • 1 pound split peas
  • 4 med. size minced fine carrots
  • 2 c. minced ham
  • 1 gallon ham stock or possibly water
  • Ham base
  • Pepper to taste
  • Salt if needed

Direcciones

  1. Soak split peas in cool water overnight (to soften). Next day pour off water and add in 1 gallon stock or possibly water to split peas. Boil easily till split peas are 3/4 cooked (they will dissolve). Add in whole peas, carrots and cook peas till peas get soft. Add in ham and season with ham base, pepper and add in salt if needed.
