Receta Salt: It’s the Good Stuff {GIVEAWAY–5 winners!}
I found a new favorite (simple!) slow cooker meal, my first homemade furniture polish, delish ice cream, and motivation to get more disciplined...all in just the eBook part of the Ultimate Bundle...it deserves the name ultimate, because that's only the tip of the iceberg. Real products and 12 weeks of webinars are also included! More here. I just love Real Salt.
I love the rustic multicolored granules, I love the story on the bottles of how it was discovered, I love that it comes without contamination from modern pollution, I love the 60 trace minerals, I love sprinkling it on my eggs with abandon not worrying about the perils of refined salt. (What’s the deal with unrefined salt?)
And I love that the 10-pound buckets, of which I now have many, are awesome to fill with a whole 9-tray batch of crispy apple chips. Just sayin’. It’s the little things.
BYOS
“Did you bring your own salt?” the gal next to me at my last book club asked, surprised.
“Um, yeah,” I ducked my head sheepishly. I had been trying to surreptitiously get my Real Salt mini out of my purse to make the beet-tomato-and-goat-cheese salad come into its own with flavor, but I got busted.
Since I was outed anyway, I figured a little real food evangelization wouldn’t hurt. “It’s Real Salt, and it has over 60 minerals instead of just two. It’s from this ancient underground sea deep in Utah.”
Yes, I really do stuff like that. And I give out Real Salt minis as stocking stuffers and party favors. Real foodies can be a different sort of breed (a heritage one, hopefully, right!? Ha!). See what Real Salt did for Halloween? So fun.
Gift Boxed Nutrition
Good health in a box? Not on the shelves of a grocery store, but for this giveaway, heck yeah. Real Salt is offering five lucky readers a seasoning gift pack, a nice wooden crate with Real Salt and one each of seasoning salt, organic onion and organic garlic salt. ($19.99 value each)
This is the perfect gift not only for cooks in the family, but for your grilling man – we LOVE burgers in the summer with seasoning salt and garlic salt, holy cow. Oof – I have to quit saying that when I’m talking about beef. *smacks forehead*
If you win, you’ll have one Christmas gift already purchased, hooray! (Maybe this is what your kids wrap up for YOU, right?)
I just can’t say enough about the Redmond company, the integrity with which they operate, and the great foundation of natural foods and good health upon which they are built. So head on over and check out the good stuff Redmond Clay/Real Salt offers, and be sure to use the code Kitchenstew for 15% off, expires 02/14/2014.

Hi, thanks. I did use the Rafflecopter widget but didn’t see a spot to write when I checked the box to say I am a subscriber. [Reply to this comment] I just tried to place an order and the website says the coupon code (Kitchenstew) is not valid. Any ideas?

I was trying to order the Real Salt on the Redmond website – neither code (kitchen15 or kitchenstew) is working. It says “coupon does not exist”

Hi Julieanne,
It’s a little confusing! As long as you clicked the green “Enter” button in the Rafflecopter widget about subscribing you earned an entry! Thanks for reading. [Reply to this comment] I’m a subscriber. I didn’t know they had seasonings too. Going to have to get some if I don’t win. ; ) I just opened a 25lb bag of RealSalt and love the color of it, it looks slightly pink. So pretty, and of course it’s very tasty too!

[Reply to this comment] Awesome giveaway! I would love to try some of this. Some of the reviews on Amazon aren’t too favorable, though, stating that bits of rock/gravel tend to be mixed in with the salt. Have you ever encountered that?
Also, I already subscribe to your site and newsletter. Very warmest regards,

Patti,
That kind of cracks me up, actually. I think rocks and gravel are a bit of an exaggeration!! Real Salt is really natural, and you can kind of see all those colors in the top photo…so there can be some crunchiness, but more like the finest sand ever, and honestly, I rarely notice it – maybe at the very bottom of a bowl of soup. Rocks? Too funny. Katie
[Reply to this comment] Yummm… Salt on Tomatoes. That sounds really good SaraCrompton. I totally forgot what I was going to say, but I think RealSalt “handles” better when I’m cooking. It doesn’t clump up…. definitely making my Thanksgiving cooking a lot easier.

Elaine,
Urg, no fun – I haven’t seen that error before, but sometimes Rafflecopter just has a “blip” and will be fine by the time you check again. Try now? LMK if it’s still a problem and we can troubleshoot at the source, Thanks! Katie
