- Brown sausage in skillet; remove with slotted spoon. In drippings, cook onion and celery till wilted. Scald 1 1/2 c. lowfat milk. Mix remaining 1 c. lowfat milk with cornmeal; gradually stir into scalded lowfat milk. Cook, stirring often, till thick, about 5 min. Off heat stir in the butter, salt, egg yolks and sausage mix. Beat egg whites till stiff and mix in. Turn into buttered shallow 1 1/2 qt baking dish, mounding in center. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-50 min. Serve at once.
