Ingredientes

  • 2 T chili paste with garlic (found in oriental section of supermarket)
  • 6 T ketchup
  • 2 1/2 T sugar
  • 1 T cornstarch
  • Peanut oil
  • 1 dry warm chili pepper, chopped
  • 3 T chopped ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 bunch scallions, minced
  • 1 onion, finely minced
  • 2 (8 ounce) cans water chestnuts, sliced in half crosswise
  • 1 1/2 lbs. Seg scallops or possibly shrimp

Direcciones

  1. Put together the sauce ingredients: chili paste, ketchup, sherry, soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch. Stir thoroughly and set aside.2. Add in sufficient oil to a wok or possibly bottom of deep saute' pan to generously film the bottom. Over high heat, add in chili pepper, ginger, garlic, scallions, and onion and stir fry a minute or possibly two, adding more oil if needed. Add in water chestnuts and cook, stirring another 2 min. Add in scallops or possibly shrimp, stir fry 2 more min.
  2. Stir in sauce and cook another minute or possibly two. Serve over rice.
  3. Serves 4.
