,%20I%20am%20generally%20too%20worn%20out%20to%20think%20about%20baking.%20%20Since%20my%20days%20off%20are%20also%20split,%20I%20tend%20to%20spend%20those%20days%20trying%20to%20catch%20up%20on%20everything%20here%20at%20home.%20%20We%20have%20the%20garden%20to%20tend,%20the%20chicks%20to%20attend%20to%20and%20bees%20arriving%20soon.%20%20Let%E2%80%99s%20not%20even%20talk%20about%20cleaning%20the%20house%20or%20balancing%20the%20checkbook-also%20on%20my%20%E2%80%9Cto%20do%E2%80%9D%20list.%20%20When%20I%20saw%20that%20the%20recipe%20for%20this%20week%20was%20matzohs,%20I%20thought,%20%E2%80%9Cgreat,%20a%20simple%20recipe%20to%20make.%E2%80%9D%20%20In%20retrospect,%20I%20would%20rethink%20that%20thought.%20%20It%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20as%20easy%20as%20I%20thought%20it%20would%20be.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDon%E2%80%99t%20get%20me%20wrong,%20this%20was%20not%20a%20difficult%20recipe,%20just%20a%20vaguely%20written%20one%20that%20really%20did%20not%20offer%20much%20in%20the%20way%20of%20tips%20or%20tricks%20and%20even%20though%20I%20have%20a%20lot%20of%20experience%20to%20draw%20from,%20I%20was%20not%20completely%20prepared%20for%20this%20dough.%20%20The%20high%20humidity%20level%20in%20the%20air%20did%20not%20help%20either%20and%20a%20few%20hints%20might%20have%20helped.%20%20All%20in%20all,%20it%20was%20fun%20to%20finally%20make%20this%20recipe%20and%20it%20is%20one%20I%20would%20make%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20nice%20thing%20about%20an%20unleavened%20dough,%20no%20waiting%20for%20the%20rise.%20%20The%20dough%20mixed%20up%20quickly%20and%20easily.%20%20The%20recipe%20calls%20for%20the%20use%20of%20sesame%20seeds%20and%20black%20pepper%20to%20flavor%20the%20matzohs.%20%20Since%20I%20am%20not%20a%20fan%20of%20black%20pepper,%20I%20chose%20to%20change%20it%20up%20a%20bit.%20%20Rather%20than%20the%204%20tablespoons%20of%20sesame%20seeds,%20I%20mixed%201%20tablespoon%20of%20sesame%20seeds%20with%201%20tablespoon%20of%20poppy%20seeds,%201%20tablespoon%20of%20dried%20onion%20flakes,%201%20teaspoon%20granulated%20garlic,%201%20teaspoon%20caraway%20seeds%20and%201%20teaspoon%20salt%20to%20mimic%20the%20flavor%20of%20an%20everything%20bagel.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20recipe%20instructs%20you%20to%20roll%20the%20dough%20as%20thin%20as%20possible.%20%20Easier%20said%20than%20done.%20%20First%20of%20all,%20the%20use%20of%20flour%20is%20necessary%20but%20you%20must%20be%20careful%20with%20the%20amount.%20%20For%20this%20recipe,%20less%20really%20is%20more.%20%20You%20need%20the%20dough%20to%20be%20a%20tiny%20bit%20sticky%20so%20that%20it%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20slide%20all%20over%20the%20surface%20but%20you%20also%20do%20not%20want%20it%20to%20stick%20to%20the%20pin.%20%20The%20best%20tip%20I%20can%20share%20is%20to%20repeatedly%20roll,%20lift%20the%20dough%20and%20flip%20it%20and%20roll%20again.%20%20This%20constant%20lifting%20and%20flipping%20will%20also%20stretch%20the%20dough.%20%20The%20only%20bad%20news%20in%20this%20step,%20you%20can%20only%20roll%20the%20dough%20as%20thin%20as%20the%20seeds%20you%20add%20to%20it.%20%20But%20this%20is%20also%20a%20good%20thing%20because%20if%20you%20add%20the%20seeds%20and%20they%20are%20evenly%20distributed%20through%20the%20dough,%20they%20will%20act%20as%20guides%20for%20the%20pin%20and%20prevent%20you%20from%20rolling%20it%20too%20thin,%20which%20is%20probably%20not%20possible%20with%20matzoh%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemember%20earlier%20when%20I%20mentioned%20the%20lack%20of%20tips%20and%20tricks%20in%20the%20recipe?%20%20Well,%20it%20would%20have%20been%20helpful%20to%20know%20that%20the%20dough%20will%20get%20sticky%20as%20it%20sits,%20especially%20on%20a%20humid%20day%20and%20sprinkling%20salt%20over%20the%20top%20will%20only%20make%20it%20even%20more%20sticky.%20%20Another%20suggestion%20that%20the%20recipe%20lacks%20is%20to%20do%20this%20in%20stages%20or%20with%20a%20partner.%20%20Rolling%20all%20the%20dough%20out%20first%20seemed%20like%20a%20good%20plan%20but%20it%20got%20sticky%20as%20it%20sat.%20%20Rolling%20one%20sheet%20at%20a%20time%20and%20baking%20it%20immediately%20means%20this%20will%20take%20a%20long%20time.%20%20Final%20thought,%20roll%20it%20out,%20flour%20it%20and%20stack%20it%20with%20paper%20between%20each%20sheet%20(which%20I%20did%20this%20time)%20but%20do%20not%20salt%20the%20dough.%20%20The%20final%20step%20before%20baking,%20prick%20the%20sheet%20and%20add%20the%20sprinkle%20of%20salt.%20%20Next%20time%E2%80%A6.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20thin%20and%20crispy,%20good%20enough%20as%20is%20or%20with%20hummus%20or%20knowing%20my%20husband,%20peanut%20butter.%20%20Yes,%20even%20with%20the%20seeds,%20he%20will%20add%20the%20peanut%20butter.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20favorite%20part,%20the%20dark%20and%20toasty%20spots.%20%20The%20seeds%20are%20a%20close%20second.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20one%20hint%20the%20recipe%20did%20give,%20the%20high%20heat%20will%20make%20the%20surface%20bubble%20and%20blister.%20%20However,%20despite%20the%20high%20heat%20of%20a%20550%20degree%20oven,%20I%20had%20to%20incre
