Sesame Holiday Vegetables

Ingredientes

  • 2 sm. fennel bulbs (about 6 ounce. each), cut into thin wedges
  • 1 (16 ounce.) pkg. loose-pack frzn mixed broccoli, baby carrots and water
  • chestnuts
  • 1/2 c. sliced celery
  • 1 tbsp. sesame seed
  • 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Direcciones

  1. In a large saucepan cook fennel in a small amount of boiling water, covered, for 3 min. Add in frzn vegetables and celery. Return to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 7 to 9 min or possibly till the vegetables are tender. Drain.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small skillet cook sesame seed in warm extra virgin olive oil for 1 to 2 min or possibly till light brown. Remove from heat. Carefully add in lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  3. Pour sesame mix over liquid removed vegetable mix. Stir gently till coated. If you like, serve on a platter with pork roast. Makes 6 servings.
