I’m pretty sure that when people come into my kitchen, they might look in one corner of it and think I have a problem with hoarding. You see, in one corner of my kitchen, there’s a stack of cooking magazines. It’s a pretty large stack, if I’m being completely honest. Magazines I can’t quite bear to part with yet, but that I also haven’t had the time to dig through. So they sit, in the corner, next to my cookbook cabinet (that hopefully makes my cookbook addiction look less hoarder-esque.)

%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20strange%20turn%20of%20events%20the%20other%20day,%20I%20actually%20grabbed%20one%20of%20the%20magazines%20from%20the%20pile%20and%20looked%20through%20it.%20%20It%20was%20an%20issue%20of%20Fine%20Cooking%20(from%20a%20year%20ago,%20but%20that%E2%80%99s%20beside%20the%20point).%20%20Just%20a%20few%20pages%20in,%20I%20ran%20across%20a%20recipe%20that%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20believe%20I%20hadn%E2%80%99t%20jumped%20on%20before.%20%20It%E2%80%99s%20everything%20I%20look%20for%20in%20a%20recipe%20for%20a%20school%20night.%20%20It%E2%80%99s%20really%20easy%20to%20throw%20together,%20it%20uses%20just%20a%20few%20fresh%20ingredients,%20and%20it%E2%80%99s%20adaptable.%20%20And,%20as%20we%20found%20out%20after%20I%20made%20it,%20it%E2%80%99s%20delicious.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20started%20by%20measuring%20out%20some%20honey,%20Worcestershire%20sauce%20and%20Balsamic%20vinegar.%20%20I%20chopped%20up%20a%20couple%20of%20cloves%20of%20garlic,%20and%20grabbed%20a%20couple%20sprigs%20of%20fresh%20rosemary.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20poured%20the%20honey,%20vinegar%20and%20Worcestershire%20into%20my%20slow%20cooker,%20added%20the%20garlic,%20and%20whisked%20it%20all%20together.%20%20Then,%20I%20placed%20a%20five-pound%20pork%20shoulder%20roast%20in%20the%20slow%20cooker,%20and%20turned%20it%20in%20the%20honey%20mixture%20to%20coat%20it%20well%20on%20all%20sides.%20%20I%20placed%20the%20rosemary%20alongside%20the%20pork,%20and%20it%20was%20ready%20to%20start%20cooking.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDepending%20on%20how%20you%20set%20your%20slow%20cooker,%20the%20pork%20needs%20to%20cook%20from%20anywhere%20from%20six%20to%20ten%20hours,%20so%20this%20is%20the%20perfect%20meal%20to%20prep%20for%20a%20day%20when%20you%20don%E2%80%99t%20have%20time%20to%20deal%20with%20dinner%20until%20you%20want%20to%20eat%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo,%20the%20pork%20cooks%20all%20day%20long,%20and%20just%20before%20you%E2%80%99re%20ready%20to%20dive%20in,%20you%20can%20get%20the%20avocado%20relish%20together.%20%20Who%20knew%20so%20much%20flavor%20could%20come%20from%20just%20a%20couple%20of%20avocados%20and%20some%20pickled%20jalapeno?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThat%E2%80%99s%20all%20it%20is,%20and%20it%E2%80%99s%20so%20good!%20%20Toss%20the%20avocados%20and%20peppers%20with%20just%20a%20bit%20of%20apple%20cider%20vinegar,%20and%20you%E2%80%99re%20all%20set.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20removed%20the%20pork%20from%20the%20juices,%20shredded%20it%20and%20placed%20the%20meat%20in%20a%20large%20bowl.%20%20Then,%20I%20poured%20the%20juices%20from%20the%20slow%20cooker%20into%20a%20fat%20separator,%20and%20let%20the%20fat%20rise%20to%20the%20top.%20%20I%20poured%20the%20juices%20into%20a%20small%20saucepan,%20leaving%20the%20fat%20behind%20to%20discard.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20brought%20the%20juices%20to%20a%20boil%20and%20cooked%20them%20until%20they%20reduced%20down%20to%20about%20one%20cup.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20the%20juices%20had%20reduced,%20I%20poured%20the%20juices%20over%20the%20pork%20and%20tossed%20it%20to%20coat%20it%20all%20evenly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20then%20we%20were%20ready%20to%20eat!%20%20I%20decided%20to%20make%20tostadas%20with%20my%20pork,%20piling%20it%20high%20on%20corn%20tostada%20shells,%20adding%20the%20avocado%20relish,%20and%20sprinkling%20with%20some%20Mexican%20Cojita%20cheese.%20%20You%20could%20make%20tacos%20with%20it,%20make%20sandwiches%20with%20it,%20throw%20it%20in%20some%20quesadillas,%20or%20just%20eat%20the%20pork%20with%20a%20fork.%20%20However%20you%20decide%20to%20try%20it,%20it%20sure%20is%20tasty.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20think%20I%20need%20to%20break%20into%20that%20pile%20of%20magazines%20more%20often.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESLOW%20COOKER%20HONEY-BALSAMIC%20PULLED%20PORK%20WITH%20AVOCADO%20RELISH%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdapted%20from%20Fine%20Cooking%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESlow%20Cooker%20Honey-Balsamic%20Pulled%20Pork%20with%20Avocado%20Relish%20%20%20Author:%20Adapted%20from%20Fine%20Cooking%20%20Recipe%20type:%20Slow%20Cooker%20%20%20Prep%20time:%20%2010%20mins%20%20Cook%20time:%20%206%20hours%20%20Total%20time:%20%206%20hours%2010%20mins%20%20%20Serves:%204-6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%C2%BC%20cup%20honey%20%C2%BC%20cup%20Worcestershire%20sauce%20%C2%BC%20cup%20Balsamic%20vinegar%202%20sprigs%20of%20fresh%20Rosemary%202%20cloves%20garlic,%20minced%201%20(5%20lb)%20bone-in%20pork%20shoulder%202%20ripe%20avocados,%20chopped%202%20Tbsp.%20pickled%20jalapeno%20rings,%20chopped%201%20Tbsp.%20apple%20cider%20vinegar%20taco%20shells,%20tostada%20shells,%20buns,%20etc.%20for%20however%20you'd%20like%20to%20serve%20this.%20It%20would%20also%20be%20good%20piled%20over%20rice!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20the%20honey,%20Worcestershire%20sauce,%20Balsamic%20vinegar%20and%20garlic%20in%20a%206%20quart%20slow%20cooker.%20Place%20the%20pork%20shoulder%20in%20the%20slow%20cooker,%20and%20turn%20to%20coat%20on%20all%20sides.%20Place%20the%20rosemary%20around%20the%20pork.%20Cover%20and%20cook%20until%20fork%20tender,%20about%206-7%20hours%20on%20HIGH%20or%209-10%20hours%20on%20LOW.%20Transfer%20the%20pork%20ro
