%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20hubby%20and%20I%20had%20our%20groceries%20delivered%20for%20four%20weeks%20after%20the%20little%20man%20was%20born,%20because%20we%20weren't%20yet%20confident%20enough%20to%20take%20him%20out%20and%20about.%20Also,%20with%20flu%20season,%20we%20were%20trying%20to%20let%20the%20Jack-baby's%20immune%20system%20build%20up%20a%20bit,%20and%20hopefully%20not%20expose%20him%20to%20the%20H1n1%20flu.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlus,%20we're%20lazy.%20(Last%20weekend,%20the%20pizza%20man%20and%20grocery%20man%20bumped%20into%20each%20other%20at%20our%20front%20door.%20Along%20with%20my%20little%20brother,%20Cory.%20How%20embarrassing.)%20The%20pizza%20man%20brought%20pizza.%20The%20grocery%20man%20brought%20(you%20guessed%20it)%20groceries.%20And%20Cory?%20He%20brought%20....%20H1N1.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYes,%20he%20got%20sick%20with%20it%20while%20staying%20with%20us.%20That%20was%20a%20week%20ago,%20and%20so%20far,%20so%20good%20as%20far%20as%20the%20hubby,%20Jack,%20and%20I%20are%20concerned.%20(Cory%20didn't%20fare%20as%20well.%20He%20had%20complications.%20Although%20he%20WAS%20released%20from%20the%20hospital%20yesterday.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt's%20a%20scary,%20scary%20flu%20season%20out%20there,%20especially%20for%20the%20little%20ones.%20Especially%20when%20H1N1%20vaccines%20are%20in%20such%20low%20supply.%20Especially%20when%20the%20first%20batch%20that%20reached%20your%20state%20froze%20and%20no%20longer%20worked.%20But%20I%20digress.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20going%20to%20make%20some%20sort%20of%20Moroccan%20short%20ribs%20in%20the%20slow%20cooker%20today,%20but%20when%20it%20came%20down%20to%20it,%20I%20just%20wasn't%20hungry%20for%20Moroccan%20short%20ribs.%20I%20decided%20to%20introduce%20us%20to%20the%20wonderful%20world%20of%20bone-in%20short%20ribs%20using%20just%20a%20basic%20meat%20'n'%20potatoes%20recipe.%20I%20was%20in%20a%20hurry%20and%20just%20randomly%20threw%20a%20bunch%20of%20things%20in.%20Overall,%20the%20ribs%20were%20incredibly%20tasty,%20and%20the%20meat%20was%20very%20buttery%20and%20tender.%20Almost%20too%20rich.%20Dare%20I%20say%20that%20I%20might%20avoid%20bone-in%20short%20ribs%20in%20the%20future,%20just%20because%20I'm%20more%20used%20to%20leaner%20cuts%20of%20meat?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20other%20news,%20awards!%20I'd%20like%20to%20thank%20Palidor%20at%20Crazy%20Asian%20Gal%20for%20the%20following%20award.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPalidor%20is%20so%20kind%20and%20sweet.%20She%20lives%20in%20The%20Land%20Without%20Symphony%20Bars%20(also%20called%20%22Canada%22*),%20and%20her%20blog%20is%20among%20my%20favorites%20to%20read.%20How%20she%20comes%20up%20with%20such%20yummy%20recipes%20while%20eating%20gluten-free,%20I'll%20never%20know.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'd%20like%20to%20pass%20this%20award%20on%20(see,%20I'm%20getting%20the%20hang%20of%20this!)%20to%20the%20following%20bloggers:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Egirlichef:%20Her%20derring-do%20in%20the%20kitchen%20tops%20all%20others.%20(She%20makes%20her%20own%20fresh%20mozzarella%20and%20cream%20cheese!)%20Plus,%20she%20lets%20me%20private%20e-mail%20her%20with%20all%20kinds%20of%20annoying%20questions.%20She%20should%20be%20sainted.%20If%20I%20could%20bottle%20her%20energy,%20I'd%20...%20keep%20it%20all%20for%20myself.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAccountants%20can%20cook?:%20Accountants%20apparently%20can%20write,%20as%20well.%20Aside%20from%20the%20yummy%20recipes,%20I%20just%20love%20the%20narrative%20style.%20And%20she%20puts%20her%20meal%20plans%20on%20her%20Blackberry.%20I%20think%20that%20makes%20her%20my%20hero.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20Tasty%20Treasures:%20I%20salivate,%20giggle,%20and%20blush%20every%20time%20I%20read%20her%20blog.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20Year%20on%20the%20Grill:%20He%20grills%20anything.%20He%20says%20anything.%20Today,%20while%20catching%20up%20on%20his%20posts,%20I%20laughed%20so%20hard%20that%20I%20sprayed%20juice%20out%20of%20my%20nose.%20Now%20THAT's%20an%20endorsement.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Let%20it%20be%20known%20that%20I%20harbor%20no%20grudge%20against%20Canada.%20I%20love%20Canada.%20I%20visit%20frequently.%20I%20honeymooned%20there.%20They%20have%20great%20concerts.%20Although%20I%20do%20notice%20a%20huge%20difference%20in%20Old%20Dutch%20potato%20chips%20across%20our%20northern%20border.%20Is%20this%20because%20of%20some%20difference%20in%20Dutch%20heritage%20in%20Canada%20versus%20the%20U.S.?%20Just%20wondering.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESlow%20Cooker%20Short%20Ribs%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%204%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Sprinkle%20short%20ribs%20on%20all%20sides%20with%20salt,%20pepper,%20and%20steak%20seasoning.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Preheat%20oil%20in%20a%20saute%20pan%20over%20medium-high%20heat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETip:%20Don't%20forget%20about%20the%20oil%20while%20you're%20facing%20the%20other%20way,%20chopping%20carrots,%20or%20you'll%20smoke%20up%20the%20entire%20room.%20And%20if%20you%20have%20an%20open%20floor%20plan,%20this%20means%20the%20entire%20main%20floor%20of%20the%20house.%20And%20then%20you'll%20have%20to%20wake%20up%20the%20hubby%20to%20go%20take%20the%20baby%20downstairs%2
