Snappy Molasses Crinkles

A very tasty cookie

I clipped this recipe from somewhere right after I was married 35 years ago.

Ingredientes

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • Granulated sugar

Direcciones

  1. On a sheet of waxed paper, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and 1/8 tsp salt.
  2. Set aside
  3. In a large bowl, using a wooden spoon, beat the brown sugar with the shortening, molasses, and egg until well blended.
  4. Stir in the flour mixture.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for one hour
  6. Preheat the oven to 375.
  7. Shape the dough into balls about one inch in diameter
  8. Roll in the granulated sugar
  9. Place 3 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
  10. Bkae for 10-12 minutes or until the tops have crackled
