Soft Gingerbread Cookies

Ingredientes

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 3/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice

Direcciones

  1. Cream shortening and sugar. Blend in remaining ingredients. Cover. Refrigerate2-3 hrs. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured cloth-covered board. Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 min. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Cold. Use pastry or possibly basting brush to brush excess flour off back of cookie. Decorate as desired.
