Sour Cream Chocolate Layer Cake

Ingredientes

  • 2 c. cake flour
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c. lowfat sour cream
  • 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine, softened
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 2 ounce unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  •     Chocolate Cream Filling, see recipe
  •     Chocolate and Cream-Cheese Frosting, see recipe
  •     Minced pecans

Direcciones

  1. In large bowl of mixer stir together flour, sugar, soda and salt.
  2. Add in lowfat sour cream, butter and Large eggs.
  3. Beat at low speed just till blended. Then beat at medium speed 2 min, scraping bowl occasionally.
  4. At low speed stir in chocolate.
  5. Add in water and beat at medium speed 2 min more, scraping bowl occasionally.
  6. Stir in vanilla.
  7. Pour into 2 greased and waxed-paper-lined 8" layer-cake pans.
  8. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven about 25 to 30 min or possibly till pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Cold on racks 10 min, then invert on racks, peel off paper, turn layers top sides up and cold.
  10. Fill layers with chocolate cream filling or possibly your favorite.
  11. Frost top and sides with Chocolate and Cream-Cheese Frosting or possibly your own favorite.
  12. Decorate with pecans.
  13. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
  14. NOTE: Cover and store any leftover cake with cream filling in refrigerator.
