Receta Sourdough Biscuits
Big Batch of Sourdough Biscuits
recipe adapted from Hometown Cooking

- 3 cups flour
- 2 T sugar
- 2 T baking powder
- 1 t salt
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups Sourdough Starter
- 1/2 milk
- 1 T butter, melted
Grease baking sheets; set aside. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in shortening using a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Stir together the sourdough starter and milk; add to flour mixture. Using a fork, stir just until moistened.
Drop dough from very well-rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets. Bake at 375 for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven; brush biscuit tops with melted butter. Serve warm with honey and /or jam. Makes 20
