Interested?? Read further.
There are 35 states in India and each region has its own special cuisine. We can generally categorize them into the North Indian Cuisine, the South Indian Cuisine, the West Indian Cuisine and Eastern Indian Cuisine. Each cuisine has its own specialties.
Though we Indian bloggers post many recipes from all around India, we tend to post more recipes from the region we belong to. For example a south Indian will post more recipes from south Indian cuisine and few North Indian recipes and vice-versa. This is due to the lack of exposure to the other regional foods. Some may learn different regional recipes through experience, books, friends and neighbors. But still you may not excel in it. By participating in this challenge you will learn more regional recipes from fellow bloggers from different regions.
An outline about the challenge.....
People from varied region of India will be participating here and there will be two groups THE SOUTHERN and THE NORTHERN teams who will be challenging each other with their regional recipes. To be clear the South will challenge the North team with an authentic south Indian recipe and the North team will challenge the south team with an authentic North Indian recipe and both team will have a month time to prepare and post the recipe on their space.
The team member who poses the challenge should make a new post and write what challenge she is posing. She must also give a short introduction about the recipe, the ingredients needed, preparation method with step by step pictures and picture of the recipe and publish it. A link tool will be placed on the same post and the members must link the recipes to her space. Participants must add a link to this event page along with the even't logo.
If suppose the south team member has a doubt regarding the recipe she can contact the members of the North team and get more ideas. The team members will prepare the recipe that has been challenged and will post it on their space. The team with the highest points will win the challenge and will be the winner of the Month.
Learning and experimenting is definitely necessary in cooking world to excel. This journey or challenge will help you learn, improve and excel in other regional recipes and get more knowledge about them.
More about the challenge;
I have narrowed down the categorization into two groups to make it simpler. The Northern Group and the Southern group.
THE SOUTHERN GROUP - Bloggers from southern and Western states of India will form the South group.
THE NORTHERN GROUP - Bloggers from Northern, North-East and Eastern states of India together will form the North Group.
Both teams will challenge each other with their regional authentic recipe on the first of every month.
The teams have a month to complete the challenge. (Just one recipe a month) i.e., a month time will be given to prepare and post the recipe.
So who will challenge the other team? A member of one team will challenge the other team. The one who poses the challenge will run the event at her space.
There will be challenges within the teams also at times.
Post the logo and link of this page along with the recipe. Then link it to the event space.
Points will be given to each team accordingly.
The team with the most number of points will win the month's challenge.
Those participating in the challenge must be my follower and post this logo on their side-bars along with a link to this event page, that's the only rule.
