Ingredientes

  • 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 tbsp. melted lard
  • 2 Large eggs, well beaten

Direcciones

  1. Mix the cornmeal and salt in a saucepan; blend in the water. Bring rapidly to boiling. Stirring constantly, boil 5 min (mix will be very thick). Blend in the lowfat milk and lard. Vigorously beat into well beaten Large eggs. Thoroughly grease a 1 1/2 qt casserole and heat 2-3 min in oven. Turn batter into warm casserole.
  2. Bake at 400 degrees for 45-50 min or possibly till bread tests done. Serve immediately with butter, gravy, or possibly butter and syrup or possibly honey. Makes 4 servings.
