Southern Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredientes

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tbsp. shortening
  • 2/3 c. buttermilk

Direcciones

  1. Sift together flour, baking pwdr, baking soda and salt. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender. Stir in buttermilk. Form mix into a ball. Place on floured covered board and knead lightly. Roll out into 1/4 to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a small biscuit cutter.
  2. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake in a 450 degree preheated oven about 8-10 min. Leftover biscuits are great the next day sliced in half, buttered and put under the broiler for a few min.
  3. Makes 24 small biscuits.
