Ingredientes

  • 2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. diced onion
  • 1 x bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 tsp chopped fresh garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetarian Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp tamari
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 4 c. minced fresh collard greens
  • 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  •     Salt and black pepper, to taste
  •     cayenne pepper, to taste

  2. This super-easy side dish is a regular on Magic Johnson's table-in fact, it's one of his most frequent requests for chef Carol Quigless.
  3. In medium pot, combine water, onion, bay leaf, allspice, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, tamari, cumin and honey. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 min. Add in collard greens and return to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, till greens are tender, about 30 min.
  4. Remove pot from heat; cold slightly. Remove bay leaf and stir in oil. Add in salt, pepper and cayenne to taste. Serve warm.
