Spaghetti Sauce With Or Without Meatballs

Ingredientes

  • 1 med egg
  • 3/4 c. bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. onion, finely minced
  • 2 Tbsp. green pepper, finely minced
  • 1/4 tsp oregano, dry
  • 1 lb grnd beef
  • 14 1/2 ounce crushed tomatoes
  • 14 1/2 ounce diced tomatoes (We used no salt added from Del Monte. They are very sweet!)
  • 6 ounce tomato paste
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 2 tsp parsley, dry
  • 1 tsp basil, dry
  • 1 tsp oregano, dry
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram, dry
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or possibly salt to taste)

Direcciones

  1. Combine tomatoes, tomato paste, water, parsley, basil, oregano, marjoram, sugar, salt and pepper. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 30 min. Meatballs: Combine in a large mixing bowl egg, bread crumbs, onion, sweet pepper, 1/4 tsp. oregano and 1/4 tsp. salt. Add in grnd beef; mix well. Arrange meatballs in a 15x10 x1 baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven 15 to 20 min or possibly until no pink remains. Drain well. Add in cooked meatballs to sauce and uncover and simmer for 10 to 15 min more or possibly to desired consistency, stirring occasionally. Serve over cooked spaghetti with bread and a salad for a delightful meal.
