Ingredientes

  • 3/4 c. pearled barley
  • 5 c. water
  • 1/2 stick butter (or possibly 3 slices bacon, cut in pcs if not Lent)
  • 2 sm. onions, diced
  • 1 sm. green pepper, minced
  • 2 c. tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Direcciones

  1. Wash barley. Add in water and boil about 1 hour or possibly till done. Drain. Brown bacon (if not Lent) or possibly heat butter and add in onion, pepper and seasonings. When onions are tender, add in tomatoes and cook 10 min. Add in to liquid removed barley and cook till well blended, or possibly about 15 min.
