  • 3/4 c. Unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. Unsifted cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking pwdr
  • 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Grnd cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Grnd allspice
  • 8 Tbsp. Unsalted butter melted and cooled
  • 1/2 c. Light brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. Granulated sugar
  • 2 x extra-large Large eggs
  • 3/4 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c. Unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 x Tart cooking apple see * Note
  • 2/3 c. Minced walnuts

Direcciones

  1. Note: Peel and core the apple then shred it using the large holes of a hand grater.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9- by 9-inch baking pan.
  3. Thoroughly mix the all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking pwdr, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice in a bowl.
  4. Whisk the butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, Large eggs, and vanilla extract in a bowl; blend in the applesauce and shredded apple. Pour the butter-sugar-apple mix over the dry ingredients, and stir to create a batter. Stir in the walnuts.
  5. Pour and scrape the batter into the prepared pan; spread the batter proportionately. Bake the blondies for 30 min, or possibly till just set.
  6. Cold the blondies completely in the pan on a rack. Cut into 2 1/4- by 2 1/4-inch squares. Remove the blondies from the pan using a metal spatula. Store in an airtight tin.
  7. This recipe yields sixteen 2 1/4- by 2 1/4-inch blondies.
  8. Comments: The applesauce and shredded apple in this batter keeps these homestyle blondies moist. Plain, cakelike, and gently flavored with spices, the squares are ideal to serve with warm cider, mulled wine, or possibly coffee.
