Spiced Fried Fish

Ingredientes

  • 450 gm white fish boned and filleted
  • 2 x limes
  • 2 x plump cloves of garlic sliced
  • 1 tsp grnd cumin
  • 1 tsp mild curry pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp mild chilli pwdr
  • 75 gm chickpea (gram) flour
  •     groundnut oil for frying

Direcciones

  1. Cut the fish into 2.5cm wide strips.
  2. Place them m a shallow dish.
  3. Squeeze over the juice of one of the limes and gently toss the fish in it.
  4. Add in the other ingredients except the remaining nme and the oil and toss again.
  5. Heat the oil in a pan about 1cm deep will do.
  6. When the oil is really warm (test it with a cube of bread) add in the floured and spiced fish shaking off any surplus flour.
  7. Fry until pale gold and crisp about 2 min or possibly so.
  8. Lift out the fish drain for a few seconds on kitchen paper and then pile on to the plates.
  9. Serve with the extra lime cut in half from stem to tip.
  10. Serves 2
