Spicy Beer and Cheese Bread

This is the best Bread to go with Chili.
If you dont have jalapenos, Use chili flakes or chili powder

Ingredientes

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 9 ozs pale ale
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese or more
  • 2 scallions (thinly sliced including green part) opitional
  • 10 ozs jalapenos (finely chopped) or Two Tbsp Chili Flakes
  • 1 tbsp melted butter

Direcciones

  1. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the beer and mix well.
  3. Add the cheese, scallions, and jalapenos and mix well.
  4. The batter will be stiff.
  5. Spoon evenly into a greased 9x5 loaf pan and brush the top with the melted butter.
  6. Bake at 300º for 45 minutes or until browned.
  7. Remove from oven to cool and cut into 1/4 inch slices when ready to serve.
  8. To serve, arrange the slices on a baking sheet and broil for 1 minute or until brown.
