Receta SPICY MUTTON BALLS
by Anita Mary Amalor

This SPICY MUTTON BALLS is a version of one of my best traditional dishes. Minced meat well blended with spices and fried to perfection is definitely a treat to your mouth. Traditionally served in family events and weddings this recipe is my number one favourite. Though traditionally done with mutton you can also try it out with MINCED BEEF. Here I have roasted and grounded all the ingredients to make the meat balls. If you have minced mutton or beef along with all powdered spices its much more easier and quicker for you if you want to relish on the bite of this droolicious MUTTON BALLS. INGREDIENTS: Mutton cubes/ Minced Mutton- 1/2 Kg Onion- 1 medium sized Mint leaves- 1 small bunch Coriander leaves- 1 small bunch Cinnamon sticks- 2 long sticks Cardamom- 4 No's Cloves- 4 No's Turmeric Powder- 1 tspn Chilly Powder- 1 tspn Garam Masala- 1 tspn Ginger garilc paste- 1 tbspn Oil to stir fry- 2 tbspn Oil to deep fry- 500 ml Salt to taste METHOD: 1. Pour oil in the frying pan and when its medium hot add in all the spices until they turn light brown. 2. Add the chopped onion and keep frying until it turns brown. 3. Add the meat followed by chilly, turmeric and garam masala powder. 4. Keep stirring for 3 to 5 minutes until the meat is half cooked. 5. When you are about to remove the meat from fire add the mint and coriander leaves. Give it a gentle toss. 6. Allow the mutton and spice mix to cool and grind it in  the blender to form a coarse and thick paste. 7. Make uniformly sized balls and fry it in oil. 8. Serve with salad and spicy chutney/sauce of your choice.
