%20on%20this%20particular%20night%20with%20some%20course-ground%20pork,%20I%20immediately%20thought%20of%20stir%20frying%20it%20with%20some%20asparagus.%20It%20is%20spring%20after%20all,%20and%20we%E2%80%99d%20just%20been%20talking%20about%20how%20much%20we%20miss%20the%20beautiful%20cherry%20blossoms%20in%20Japan,%20so%20I%20had%20Asian%20food%20on%20my%20mind.%20Later,%20I%20was%20casually%20flipping%20through%20the%20new%20issue%20of%20Bon%20Appetit%20and%20lo%20and%20behold;%20there%20was%20exactly%20what%20I%20had%20in%20mind:%20Spicy%20Pork%20with%20Asparagus%20&%20Chile.%20It%20was%20meant%20to%20be.%20In%20true%20stir-fry%20nature,%20this%20dinner%20comes%20together%20quickly,%20so%20make%20sure%20all%20of%20your%20ingredients%20are%20chopped,%20measured,%20and%20ready%20to%20go.%20We%20loved%20the%20flavor%20of%20the%20pork,%20seasoned%20with%20soy%20sauce%20and%20sherry%20(we%20didn%E2%80%99t%20have%20any%20Chinese%20rice%20wine,%20alas),%20with%20the%20crisp-tender%20asparagus.%20Some%20red%20jalape%C3%B1o%20chile%20added%20some%20heat,%20which%20was%20balanced%20by%20the%20savory%20and%20sweet%20flavors%20of%20oyster%20sauce%20and%20honey.%20Next%20time%20we%20would%20actually%20add%20a%20little%20more%20honey,%20as%20well%20as%20a%20little%20more%20heat.%20I%E2%80%99d%20have%20your%20Sriracha%20bottle%20handy%20when%20you%E2%80%99re%20eating,%20or%20better%20yet,%20add%20some%20to%20the%20oil%20when%20you%20add%20the%20chile%20and%20ginger%20and%20let%20it%20really%20infuse%20the%20oil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20first%20thing%20I%20do%20when%20I%20sit%20down%20for%20dinner%20is%20start%20cutting%20everything%20on%20my%20plate%20into%20little%20bits,%20so%20that%20I%20can%20give%20them%20to%20Levi.%20(But%20the%20other%20day%20I%20found%20myself%20doing%20the%20same%20when%20it%20was%20just%20me%20and%20my%20lunch!%20I%20realized%20what%20I%20was%20doing%20and%20laughed%20at%20myself).%20The%20good%20thing%20about%20this%20meal%20is%20that%20the%20ground%20pork%20could%20go%20straight%20from%20my%20plate%20to%20Levi%E2%80%99s.%20Only%20the%20asparagus%20had%20to%20get%20the%20special%20knife%20treatment.%20I%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20resist%20taking%20a%20picture%20of%20my%20little%20foodie%E2%80%99s%20version.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpicy%20Pork%20with%20Asparagus%20&%20Chile%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(From%20the%20April%202011%20issue%20of%20Bon%20Appetit)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20medium%20bowl,%20whisk%20together%20the%20soy%20sauce,%20rice%20wine,%20and%20cornstarch.%20Add%20the%20pork%20and%20toss%20to%20blend.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%202%20tsp.%20of%20the%20oil%20in%20a%20heavy%20large%20wok%20or%20deep%20skillet%20over%20high%20heat.%20Add%20asparagus,%20chile,%20and%20ginger.%20Toss%20until%20asparagus%20is%20crisp-tender,%20about%203%20minutes.%20Using%20slotted%20spoon,%20transfer%20asparagus%20mixture%20to%20plate.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20remaining%201%20tsp.%20oil%20to%20wok.%20Add%20pork%20mixture%20and%20stir-fry%20until%20browned,%20using%20wooden%20spoon%20to%20break%20up%20pork%20into%20small%20pieces,%202%20to%203%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EReturn%20asparagus%20mixture%20to%20wok.%20Add%20remaining%202%20TBS.%20soy%20sauce,%20oyster%20sauce,%20and%20honey.%20Stir-fry%20until%20pork%20is%20cooked%20through,%20about%202%20minutes.%20Add%20water%20by%20tablespoonfuls%20if%20it%20becomes%20too%20dry.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20green%20onions;%20toss%20to%20incorporate.%20Season%20to%20taste%20with%20sea%20salt%20and%20freshly%20ground%20black%20pepper.%20Serve%20over%20steamed%20rice.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
