Ingredientes

  • 1 env onion soup mix - (1 ounce)
  • 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp grnd cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili pwdr
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. chunky salsa
  • 2 x Italian bread loaves - (16 ounce ea)
  • 4 c. shredded lettuce
  • 1 lb deli roast beef slices
  • 2 x tomatoes seeded, diced
  • 2 c. shredded colby-Monterey Jack cheese blend (8 ounce)

Direcciones

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in 1 c. water; cover with plastic wrap, folding back a corner to allow steam to escape. Microwave at HIGH 4 to 5 min or possibly till thickened, stirring once. Stir in salsa.
  2. Slice off top one-third of each bread loaf lengthwise; hollow out bottoms of loaves, leaving 1-inch-thick shells.
  3. Place 1 c. lettuce in bottom of each shell. Layer each with half of roast beef, half of salsa mix, and remaining roast beef. Sprinkle with tomato and cheese; spread with remaining salsa mix, and sprinkle with remaining lettuce.
  4. Cover with bread tops, and press down lightly. If you like, wrap in plastic wrap and chill.
  5. This recipe yields 8 to 10 servings.
