Spinach with Chickpeas Recipe
Ingredients:
- Spinach – 150 gms, washed, drained, chopped
- Chickpeas – 1 cup, boiled, drained
- Butter – 2 tsp
- Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
- Onion – 1, finely sliced
- Extra-Virgin Olive Oil – 2 tblsp
- Cumin Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Basil Leaves – 2 tsp
- Salt as per taste
- Black Pepper Powder as per taste
- Lemon Juice – 1 tblsp
- Nutmeg Powder – a small pinch
Method:
1. Heat oil in nonstick pan over medium flame.
2. Saute the onions for 5 to 10 minutes or until light golden.
3. Add the garlic and cumin powder.
4. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes.
5. Add all the other ingredient, except lemon juice.
6. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
7. Add the lemon juice just before removing and stir quickly.
8. Serve hot with cooked rice.
