Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Split peas
  • 1 x Ham bone
  • 3 quart Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Onion, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. Butter
  • 3 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper
  • 2 c. Lowfat milk

Direcciones

  1. Wash and soak peas in water to cover, overnight. In the morning drain off the water and cover with 3 qts of fresh water. Add in the ham bone and onion and cook till peas are soft. Rub through a sieve. Heat the butter and stir in the flour till well blended and smooth. Add in the salt, pepper and lowfat milk and cook, stirring constantly till the mix thickens. Combine with the strained liquid and cook till rather thick. Serve warm.
