Spooky Spider Cider

Apple cider punch is a staple at many fall parties, but your guests will look twice when they see spiders floating on tope of the punch bowl! Note, this idea is best for children over 6 years old. Be sure to remove the spider rings from everyone’s cup before drinking.

  • 16 to 32 spider rings
  • 1 gallon apple cider
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 pieces star anise
  • 4 small oranges
  • 4 small whole apples

Direcciones

  1. The night before your party, mix equal parts apple cider and water. Tuck one spider ring in each opening on an ice cube tray, then cover with the apple cider mixture and freeze solid.
  2. In a large stock pot, simmer 1 gallon apple cider with the allspice, cloves, cinnamon star anise and one orange sliced in quarters. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes. Turn off the heat and let cool completely.
  3. To serve, pour the cider into a punch bowl. Float some apple and orange slices studded with cloves and a couple smaller whole apples on the surface of the punch. Just before serving, add your spider ice cubes.
