%20have%20been%20thriving%20under%20their%20protective%20plastic%20sheeting.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20like%20knowing%20there's%20a%20little%20pocket%20of%20happy%20growing%20green%20stuff%20out%20on%20our%20deck%20(even%20though%20it's%20hidden%20by%20the%20plastic%20most%20of%20the%20time.)%20When%20I%20went%20out%20to%20check%20on%20them%20today,%20I%20realized%20it%20was%20time%20to%20do%20some%20harvesting.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo's%20I%20cut%20some%20kale%20and%20some%20mustard%20greens%20and%20I%20have%20to%20admit%20I%20don't%20even%20know%20what%20(everything%20was%20grown%20from%20some%20spicy%20greens%20seed%20mix...)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20I%20took%20it%20inside%20and%20washed%20it%20(there%20were%20some%20bugs...)%20guess%20they're%20one%20of%20the%20downsides%20to%20the%20balmy%20weather%20we've%20been%20having%20lately.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20I%20stir-fried%20it%20with%20garlic,%20ginger,%20red%20pepper%20flakes%20and%20tossed%20it%20with%20soy%20sauce,%20rice%20mirin%20and%20sesame%20oil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20ate%20them%20with%20some%20leftover%20rice%20and%20grilled%20salmon%20we'd%20made%20for%20dinner%20the%20other%20night.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E'Twas%20good.%20I'm%20happy%20the%20hoop%20house%20is%20there%20and%20that%20the%20plants%20are%20dug%20in,%20doing%20their%20thing.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStir-Fried%20Winter%20Greens%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%204%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Place%20a%20wok%20(or%20large%20skillet)%20over%20high%20heat%20and%20pour%20the%20peanut%20oil%20into%20the%20wok.%20Swirl%20to%20coat%20the%20wok's%20sides%20evenly%20with%20the%20oil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Toss%20the%20garlic%20and%20ginger%20into%20the%20oil,%20along%20with%20the%20pinch%20of%20chili%20flakes%20and%20stir-fry%20for%2030-45%20seconds%20to%20flavor%20the%20oil,%20stirring%20to%20prevent%20the%20garlic%20from%20sticking%20or%20burning.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20Add%20the%20greens%20and%20stir%20to%20ensure%20that%20they%20get%20coated%20with%20oil%20and%20come%20into%20contact%20with%20the%20wok's%20searing%20hot%20sides.%20Stir-fry%20until%20they%20are%20wilted%20and%20softened%20to%20a%20point%20you%20like--some%20people%20prefer%20them%20more%20raw%20than%20cooked%20and%20others%20prefer%20them%20really%20cooked.%20Regardless,%20it%20is%20truly%20amazing%20how%20much%20the%20greens%20cook%20down%20in%20just%20a%20few%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Add%20the%20rice%20mirin,%20soy%20sauce%20and%20sesame%20oil%20and%20toss%20to%20coat.%20Turn%20off%20the%20heat%20and%20remove%20the%20stir-fried%20veggies%20to%20a%20bowl%20or%20plate%20(sitting%20in%20a%20wok%20after%20cooking%20can%20turn%20food%20black%20as%20the%20metal%20oxidizes.)%20Serve%20the%20stir-fried%20greens%20over%20rice%20and%20top%20with%20the%20sesame%20seeds.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
